Features

The Broadband Performance Monitor allows you to quickly identify and assess the extent of a network outage. The Broadband Performance Monitor is a web enabled fault and performance management application which provides access to all levels of support and management via the internet. While this application has a very powerful fault management function not only providing alerts on outage conditions it is also capable of automatically launching external scripts and programs.

The Broadband Performance Monitor can also monitor and analyze the transmission quality of your broadband cable network.  By monitoring the Signal to Noise Ratio (S/N) and CodeWord Errors on your Cisco UBR's and subscriber modems you can identify degradations in transmission quality and take action before the customer sees a problem.  The Broadband Performance Monitor utilizes industry standard RFC1213 and DOCSIS MIBs to provide real-time and historical views into your broadband network.  The Broadband Performance Monitor is scalable and powerful,  fulfilling the needs of virtually any size broadband network or hybrid fiber coax (HFC) system.

The Broadband Performance Monitor provides user configurable charts and graphs which detail the precise status and utilization of your upstream and downstream connections, headend routers and network servers.  Additionally, it includes advanced reports to help you identify the problem areas within your network. The Broadband Performance Monitor provides real-time fault and performance management of multi-vendor broadband networks and HFC systems.  Some of the information available within this application are listed in the features below.

  • Auto alert and e-mail on outage of CMTS, server or switch.
  • Web-based bandwidth performance and outage reports viewable from your intranet.
  • Alerts on degrading RF Signal to Noise Ratios (S/N).
  • Customizable alerting with details sent directly to your digital phone.
  • Monitors using Standard DOCSIS 1.0 and DOCSIS 1.1 protocols.
  • Can log up to three (3) years of real-time graphical history on-line for performance analysis.
